On 7th November, KNUTS.in facilitated an evening of reflection and resilience for a leading global investment management firm through an inspiring session with Voice of Value Laxmi Agarwal.
VoV Laxmi was only 15 when she was attacked by her stalker with acid in 2005. He thought he will kill her dreams. Little did he know that she will bounce back and will strike a chord deep within people. As she says “Usne acid mere chehre par daala hai, sapnon par nahin” (He threw acid on my face, not on my dreams), Instead she never stopped dreaming and today, she is synonymous with courage and beauty around the globe.
Laxmi had been awarded for her courage and determination by organizations all over the global. From being chosen as the NDTV Indian of the Year in 2014 to receiving the 2014 International Women of Courage award by US First Lady Michelle Obama.
Laxmi’s extraordinary life inspired the acclaimed Bollywood film Chhapaak, featuring Deepika Padukone, where her story reached millions across the world, further amplifying her message of self-worth and justice.
Laxmi reminded the audience that true strength lies not in the absence of fear, but in the decision to rise despite it.
