Born in Dibrugarh (Assam), Bitan lived the initial 16 years of his life in the nationally outcast region of North East India, majorly in Kohima (Nagaland) . 28 years later, when he visited Kohima with his wife and daughter, he was overwhelmed with the love and warmth exuded by his schoolmates from Don Bosco, many of whom were not even his close buddies. It felt like time travel as he could see the young Bitan basking in the soft sunlight of the pristine hills and looking up at these three visitors from the future, the same place but on another day. His next destination was the Kolkata suburban area, where he completed his 12th and graduated.

This was a period of grave identity crisis as he was uprooted from his school days of quizzing, debates, and science exhibitions and put in educational institutions where everything was in the vernacular language of Bengali, which he did not know to read or write. This made him develop swift translation skills, as the Professor delivered his class lectures in Bengali, and he began to enjoy this self-competition.

The dim yellow lights of the local train and the daily struggle for existence as one jostled for space in the overcrowded compartments gave birth to a deep-rooted desire within him to shift out of this life at the earliest possible. Voices, the student edition of The Statesman, which used to come out on Thursdays, was his only conduit of fresh air in his otherwise suffocated life, rolled in between evening graduation classes at City College of Commerce (Kolkata) and running household errands during the day, as he and his mother stayed there while his father was still posted at his Central Government job in the North East. Finally, he exited from this life as he made it through a 2-year residential MBA course in Kochi, Kerala. He was back to his world of inter-school competitions, student forums, organizing events, and the like. Sadly, he had not known about the reality of Manifestation then.

This was followed by work-life in Kolkata. He got an opportunity to shift to Bangalore, but his mother's cancer relapsed, and he had to stay back. These 22 years of work-life in Kolkata have been spread across MNC Advertising Agencies of WPP Global Network and with Regional corporations, launching, reviving, and growing regional and national brands while working with CXOs, MDs, and Entrepreneurs in varied capacities like functional head, brand director, marketing head. This has enabled him to develop the Commander's view of businesses alongside working in the trenches - which has been possible because of being in Kolkata, and that's a blessed opportunity. He has also been fortunate to be able to spend time with Post Graduate students of Business Schools as he undertook full-term courses or Guest Lectures at institutes like IBS (ICFAI Business School), ISB&M (International School of Business & Media), NSHM School of Media & Communication. He has also published articles on brand and marketing in leading national Advertising and marketing media like Pitch Magazine, afaqs.com, exchange4media.com, and pitchonthenet.com. The past 1 year of being through job loss, psychological meltdown, and getting back again has made him realize that it's his payback time now to share with others his experiences of life and beyond!
